What exactly is it?

ICFE provides a recognized English language qualification specifically for professionals working in the financial and accounting fields. The level of the examination is intermediate / upper intermediate and approximates to bands 5.5 / 6.5 of I.E.L.T.S., or First Certificate / Cambridge Advanced in the Cambridge ESOL suite of examinations.

Prospective students should demonstrate that they have the requisite language skills to benefit from the course by providing proof of their English language level, or they should take a placement test at the Assessment Centre. Students will be expected to score for Level 3 of the Business English Program in order to enrol for ICFE.

What does the course involve?

• It is a blended learning course which will comprise 50 hours online study, supplemented by 50 hours face to face tuition.
• The cost of the course will be BD 270. The cost will include a password to enable learners to access the online materials for a period of one year.
• On completion of the preparation course, candidates can sit for the examination at the British Council, Manama. The exams are run monthly.
• All four language skills (reading, writing, listening and speaking) will be tested in separate papers.
• Alternatively, the course can be taken as a standalone unit of Financial and Accounting English. Successful completion of the course will entitle students to a BIBF certificate of completion.
