BIBF Launches New Banking Qualification

BIBF has launched the Professional Diploma in Financial Services Management (PDFSM). The Institute announced that it has been recognized as the approved academic center to provide tuition for the new qualification awarded by the ifs School of Finance whose parent organization is the well-known Chartered Institute of Bankers in the UK.
“Since 1983, the Institute has been running the Banking Studies Diploma Program which is regarded as a benchmark qualification for career development of the entrants and junior level employees in the financial services industry”, said BIBF’s Deputy Director, Mr. Hussain Ismail. “BIBF, in association with ifs, has created another window of opportunity for its students and the financial services community in Bahrain”, he added. Mr. Ismail further indicated that the diploma awards an international certification to BIBF students, adding further credibility to its suite of prestigious qualifications.
BIBF’s Senior Banking Instructor Dr. Subhadra Ganguli said “The Professional DFSM® is a new qualification that provides the foundation knowledge and skills in financial services management”. Dr. Ganguli added that the new Diploma is recognized throughout the financial services industry in the UK and credits gained by achieving the qualification will allow students to progress to the ifs School of Finance BSc (Hons) in Financial Services and Associateship in association with the University of Manchester, UK.
Candidates of the first cohort of the program will undergo a rigorous training for the next six months to sit the on-line exam and complete a course work assignment to be evaluated by external faculty of the ifs School of Finance for each course. The training will include lectures by internationally experienced faculty, online study resources provided by ifs and flexible learning tools provided by state of the art resources at BIBF.
