“BIBF and Standard Chartered have made a commitment to developing young fresh graduates for a career in banking. This makes a significant contribution to the challenge facing the financial industry’s need of highly qualified professional bankers” said Mr. Darshan Singh, Head of Leadership & Management Learning Center at the opening ceremony held at the Bahrain Institute of Banking and Finance.

The event was held to launch the Standard Chartered Management Trainee Development Program which is designed to train and develop graduates who have been selected to undergo an intensive training at BIBF. The program combines a comprehensive study at BIBF coupled with work experience in all aspects of the bank to give the graduates the opportunity to learn and experience the world of banking. This will enable both the bank and the graduates to make the appropriate career decision.

Sami Mahfouz, Acting CEO in welcoming the graduates said “Standard Chartered Bank is a highly reputed global institution and this program will lay the foundation for study with the practical work experience for your future career in the bank”.

Rabab Abbadi , Head of Human Resources said “This is a golden opportunity for you to learn in order to be placed on a fast track for professional development in Standard Chartered”. Hussain Ismail, Deputy Director of BIBF expressed his delight to partner in this program and encouraged the graduates to commit themselves to the program and work together as a team.

One of the unique features of the Management Trainee Development Program is that the graduates are assigned a Mentor earlier on in the process. Senior managers of the bank have attended an intensive Mentoring workshop conducted by Mr. Singh. The graduates continue phase one of their study at the BIBF premises.
