BIBF- Creating Professionals of the Future

Group 4 of the Graduate Recruitment and Career Development Program began their 3 months Induction Program yesterday 21st February, 2007 at the Bahrain Institute of Banking and Finance as part of the Institute’s Initiative to provide career opportunities in the Financial Industry for outstanding young talent.

Mr. Hussain Ismail, BIBF’s Deputy Director welcomed the new selected group of graduates in the presence of Senior managers of the banks sponsoring the program. “The aim of this program is to attract one hundred fresh graduates per annum for the financial industry and follow their career progression over a five year period” said Mr. Ismail. “Started in 2006, the program has proven to be a huge success as it has placed over 57 young Bahraini Graduates in leading banks in Bahrain”, he added. Mr. Ismail also emphasized the importance of human capital in success of any organization and urged the graduates to seize this opportunity to get as much knowledge and skills as possible to become the future leaders.

Darshan Singh, Head of Leadership & Management Learning Center, gave an overview of the program and provided guidelines for the graduates to follow throughout their career development.

“The selected graduates will undergo comprehensive career development spanning several years. This combines structured classroom training with challenging on-the-job assignments supported by a mentoring scheme within the participating banks.” Said Mr. Singh.

The CEOs and Human Resource Managers of the participating Banks employing the graduates expressed their delight to partner with such reputed Institution as BIBF in this important initiative namely: Ahli United Bank, Bank Muscat International, Bahrain Saudi Bank, Citibank, Gulf Finance House, Arab Banking Corporation, HSBC, Kuwait Finance House, The International Banking Corporation.

The Bank’s representatives also gave brief presentations on their personal experiences with graduate training programs and praised the excellent performance of the previous groups who now became an integrated part of the Banks.
