BIBF Adds Human Resource Development Tools to the Leadership & Management Center

A group of senior staff within the BIBF Assessment and Development Centre has recently completed a Facet5 Accreditation training program for recruitment and selection purposes.
The two- day training session concluded recently comes in line with the Institute’s objectives to further enhance its recruitment and selection practices and provide top notch experts in this field. “Facet5 is a personality measure designed for use by recruitment specialists to allow them to select and integrate new employees into the organisation and team as well as understand and develop strategies to get people to work together better; to take advantage of individual and team strengths and minimise weaknesses,” says Mr. David Davenport, the workshop facilitator and senior trainer for Facet5 at the Gulf Region.
“When organisations are trying to work smarter with smaller budgets, it is not surprising that employers are looking for ways to make better selection decisions, minimise employment risks and costs and enable teams to work effectively together,” he said.
BIBF Director, Mr. Garry Muriwai indicated that part of BIBF’s objectives is to identify the most effective tools and associated training and expertise and make them available to their clients. To achieve this, is continuously seeking to revamp its internal expertise through providing effective training programmes to maximize their awareness of the most effective tools, already used extensively in the financial sector in Europe and elsewhere.
“As more banks and financial organizations turn to a more focussed approach to recruitment, training and staff development, accurate and business savvy psychometrics becomes a very essential and an effective option,” says Mr. Muriwai. “Psychometrics will be one of the tools that the financial sector will be turning to in tough times,” he added.
“Practical benefits of using psychometric tests include better validated and more confident recruitment practices, person and organisation matching leading to greater job satisfaction and reduced staff turnover and very effective and insightful professional, leadership and team development, all from the single Facet5 tool, ” .
