BIBF- Annual Graduation Ceremony 2008

A group of 150 students who have successfully completed BIBF’s Professional Qualification Programs were honored at a reception and awards dinner held at the Gulf Hotel’s International Convention Center under the patronage of H.E Mr. Rasheed Almaraj, Governor of the Central Bank of Bahrain (CBB) and Chairman of the Specific Council for Vocational Training (Banking Sector).

Mr. Almaraj delivered a key note speech and extended his heartiest congratulations to the graduates on their achievements. He also acknowledged BIBF’s crucial role in creating a talent pool of professionals in the Banking & Finance Sector in Bahrain.

BIBF’s Director, Mr. Garry Muriwai, congratulated all graduates on behalf of BIBF’s staff and faculty. He also thanked them for their dedication and encouraged them to constantly seek knowledge and aggressively pursue continued education and skills training.

“With the support of its stakeholders and the direction of the Specific Council for Vocational Training (Banking Sector) in addition to the continuous support from the Government of the Kingdom of Bahrain, BIBF managed to maintain the highest standards of excellence in all aspects of its training and educational process and remains a premier center of excellence,” said Mr. Muriwai. “Our scope of programs has tremendously expanded with the launch of new internationally recognized programs in partnership with a number of acclaimed international professional bodies and academic institutions,” he said.

“We remain firmly committed to providing world class programs to equip participants with the right skills to meet the rapidly changing marketplace demands”.

Mr. Al Maraj and Mr. Muriwai presented the certificates to the graduates in the presence of Bank’s CEOs, Training Managers and General Managers from various Financial Organizations and Institutions in Bahrain as well as representatives of Participating Organization, program lecturers and graduates families.

The graduates speech was delivered by Ms. Sara Al Sharaf , who on behalf of all her graduate colleagues, thanked the BIBF and the sponsoring organizations for their tremendous support and guidance. Ms. Al Sharaf said “My sincere gratitude goes to BIBF and the sponsoring bodies for supporting and granting us the opportunity to be part of this great organization that has provided us with an excellent educational and professional environment”.

This year, 34 students were recognized for the Advanced Banking Studies Diploma Program, 1 in BSc (Hons) in Financial Services and Associate Ship, 16 in the Treasury/ Capital Markets Diploma Program (TCMDP), 33 in the University of Wales Validated Diploma Program in Banking and Finance, 30 in the Advanced Insurance Studies Diploma Program, 13 in Insurance Management Diploma Program, 30 in Professional Insurance Certificate (PIC) and 31 in the Advanced Banking Diploma Program.

Demand for such BIBF professional Qualifications has increased with more participants coming from outside the Kingdom of Bahrain to pursue a professional route. This year, in addition to Bahrain based students, BIBF honored students from Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, United Arab Emirates, Jordan, Oman, Qatar , Sudan and Palestine.

Outstanding graduates were also recognized and received special awards during the ceremony. These graduates represent various Financial and Insurance Organizations in and outside Bahrain.
